Group Fitness classes include scheduled aerobics classes which run throughout the week and a quarterly aerobics marathon. Scheduled aerobics classes include:
- Step aerobics
- Below the belt
- African dance
- Hi-Low aerobics
- Power Hour
- Body vibes.
These activities are programmed to achieve a specific desired effect on the body ranging from toning up abdominal muscles, waist line, hips, buttocks and thighs and increasing muscle strength and flexibility.
Circuit training is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity aerobics. It targets strength building and muscular endurance.
Junior club is a multi-class fitness package designed for school children from age 4 – 15. The class is focused on remedying the lack of physical activity among children of this age bracket and keep them fit and active at all times.
Classes are held twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays) between 3:30 and 5:30pm during their school term. Basketball, Tennis, Fitness and Volleyball are some of the disciplines taught. Children are supposed to register to become part of the Junior Club. Participation in the Vacation Sports Clinic is free for all Junior Club members.
- Unlike the Junior Club, the Vacation Sports Clinic takes place twice within the year when children are on vacation. The classes cover a period of one month with various sports disciplines during week days. Children can register to attend daily, weekly or pay for the whole period which is highly discounted.
Children from schools such as Christ the King, Morning Star, GIS, Lincoln, Soul Clinic, Queensland and Mary Mother of Good Council have consistently participated in the Vacation Sports Clinic.
A party is held for children to crown the session and certificates given.
The quarterly aerobics marathon takes place on the last Friday of every quarter between 5:30 and 730pm. It is a nonstop two hour session with a variety of aerobics type.
- Power Walk is a group brisk walk and fitness activity that takes place on the first Saturday of a new month.
Walkers are guided through designated routes and are accompanied by an ambulance; in case of emergencies. The routes are varied every month.
The Centre’s well trained instructors take walkers through stretching before and after the walk followed by an aerobics session. Fruits and sponsors souvenirs are shared thereafter.
- Invitational Tournament : An avenue where both members and especially non-members of the Centre are invited to play a tournament which usually lasts between 3-4 days. Winners are presented with a attractive prizes.
Internal Tournament : This is a day for Tennis enthusiast of the Centre to engage each other and test their skills by playing alone against another man/woman (single),forming a team with either the same sex or the opposite sex (doubles and mixed doubles). Prizes are given to the winners after the event.
- Tennis Lessons : This is a six weeks intensive group tennis lesson for members and non-members who want to learn tennis or upgrade their Tennis skills. The event is held all year round.
